Candy Colours
Posted: January 31, 2010 Filed under: jewellery designers, solange azagury-partridge Leave a commentI’ve always had a weak spot for Smarties, I find it impossible to resist these colourful chocolate-filled sweets. Unfortunately my budget only stretches to the chocolate kind, and not to these sweet looking Smarties rings by Solange Azagury-Partridge.

What Constitutes Good Jewellery Design?
Posted: January 29, 2010 Filed under: other, swarovski Leave a commentNo offense to Daisy Lowe, who I’m sure is lovely, but after seeing her collection for Swarovski it amazes me what you can get away with if you’re a so called celebrity. There are so many talented jewellery designers out there and this is what the fashion world choose to showcase…très triste!

A Diamond in the Rough
Posted: January 26, 2010 Filed under: jewellery designers, todd reed Leave a commentRough diamonds set in recycled gold. According to Todd Reed the idea behind his jewellery started “as a way to question society about the idea of perceived value. In particular how value and perceived value relate to ideas of beauty or perfection that have become norms of society”. I like his way of thinking…

Help Haiti
Posted: January 19, 2010 Filed under: alexis bittar, jewellery designers Leave a commentAlexis Bittar is donating 100% of the sales taking place on his website until Friday this week to Catholic Relief Services for Haiti Relief. Purchasing something from the site is a great way to help a nation in need and at the same time acquire a nice piece of jewellery (the pieces in his Lucite collection are my favorites).

The Great Wave
Posted: January 19, 2010 Filed under: jewellery designers, laura jayne strand Leave a commentI wonder if Laura Jayne Strand was inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa when she created this ring? The famous Japanese woodblock print was the first thing that I thought about when I saw her silver ripple ring.

Current Cravings
Posted: January 17, 2010 Filed under: jewellery designers, kimberlin brown Leave a commentAre these stunning rings by Kimberlin Brown. These dramatic aquatic-inspired statement pieces makes my think of something Christopher Reeve once said: “Either you decide to stay in the shallow end of the pool or you go out in the ocean”.

Vintage Delight
